Happy May Yogis!

Warmer weather has been peaking its head out over the last couple weeks, and we are SO ready for it! Although there will surely be a couple more chilly days this spring, we hope that the warmer weather has given you the opportunity to get outside and enjoy this beautiful place that we get to call home! While you've all been soaking up the sunshine, we have been prepping for a busy summer season ahead! Continue reading for all that we have in store!

Class Sizes Have Increased!

We increased our class sizes in the middle of April to range between 8 and 13 people. So far, we have found that there is still plenty of space between students and everyone feels safe on their mats. As long as we continue to feel that everyone is comfortable, we will slowly increase class sizes over the next couple months. Remember that we ask for people to wear their masks until they arrive on their mats, however, if you feel better wearing it during your practice as well, please feel free to keep it on!

Don't Forget to Save Your Spot

Even though we are allowing more students in classes now, we still ask that you register beforehand. This helps to make sure that we do not have to turn people away who show up as a drop in. If you can not make it to class let us know ASAP so that we can open a spot for one of your friends! If you need to cancel, send an email to gatheryogastudio@gmail.com. If you do not show up for class or do not notify us 60 minutes before class starts, we will enforce our cancellation policy and you will be charged for class.

Outdoor Yoga?

We have not set any dates or locations for outdoor yoga this summer, but we do know that there is a desire for classes like this. Stay tuned as we figure out the details for the warmer months to come!

Meet May's Students of the Month!

Candace & Rick Emsiek

Candace and Rick are the epitome of what we love about our community. They are an awesome couple who are always super friendly, outgoing, and just plan fun to be around. Candace starting coming to Gather in 2015, and Rick joined us in 2018. We are so lucky to have them as a part of our community. Continue reading to get to know a little bit more about the Emsieks!

How has yoga changed your life?

Rick: I’m still very new to yoga having practiced for only 3.5 years but yoga has served me in many ways both psychologically and physically. It has calmed my “monkey thought”, improved balance and has created an awareness of body, and has taught me to think about the breath in many different endeavors and activities. Candidly, I hadn’t heard of prana before starting to practice. Yoga has helped me substantially in transitioning from a very busy professional life and its associated pressures to a very different pace. I’ve also learned that sometimes “one cannot always be in control; rather some things happen no matter our choice or wish”. This has been perhaps the most challenging lesson for me to grasp but I’m trying!

Candace: We retired four years ago to this amazing place, we now call home! I started my yoga practice, when we moved to Ketchum. I love my daily practice with some of the most amazing teachers. I love how yoga has taught me, to be in the moment while on my mat, to breathe (and we’re breathing) and reveal patterns in my physical and mental practice.

What is your main reason you continue to come back to Gather?

Rick: Essentially, each day at Gather serves to enhance the lessons I’m learning above. But, I also love the sense of community at Gather and the friendships we’ve gained and enjoy both in the studio and outside of the studio. Some of the best days, whether skiing, hiking, cycling or attending concerts, have been with the dear friends gained at Gather. We’re very grateful.

Candace: This past year has been hard. Thank goodness, Gather had classes on Zoom! I’m back in the studio practicing and I love our Gather yoga family. Danielle and her teachers are the best!

What are you looking forward to this summer?

Both: Seeing those that we have been apart from! Concerts, fishing, hikes, and hanging out with our Gather family!

We look forward to GATHERing with you very soon!
